I have a "semi dwarf" Macoun apple tree that is my pride and joy. It's approximately 15' tall and is about 30 years old. The trees origin is from a sucker that grew from a semi dwarf red delicious apple tree. I mounded the soil around the sucker and eventually cut it free after it had developed an adequate root system. I next grafted a macoun scion to and it has thrived. The tree was dug up and moved to it's present location by three men, twenty three years ago. Again the tree has thrived.
Nothing beats the taste of a Macoun Apple.
